How are we supposed to get into a flying city?[TRVL/Sky Fortress Bashvarium]

Mitsuko left the city for her first time in her life. She the journey away was quite harsh, but she knew that the way back would be twice as hard. But by then she would be a lot stronger, as she was going to hunt a dragon. Why did they send her on this, she did not even knew why the king asked her of all people. She should be training to get stronger, not fighting things that can actually kill her by practically breathing. This is what she heard, yet they requested her. A mage which was not just only recently in a guild, but fairly green for a mage in general. Maybe her parents left some impression and they think Mitsuko is as good as them, then they contacted me because they could not find my parents. That was probably the reason. Anyway she had to head to Bashvarium. Which was floating in the sky. Transport was all accounted for. She would take some kind of transportation at Crocus, which would take her to the fortress south of there. She was actually wondering if it was possible to get to a flying city. Some kind of magic must one allow to do so, she guessed.

It was a few days later she arrived in Crocus, the journey was harsh, but became better as she got out of the mountains. She was looking for the place that was described to her. She found it after searching for an hour. "You here for the dragon?" A man shouted to her as she entered the place. "Um, I guess I am." She replied as she showed the letter of the king to the man. They then had a short conversation, which ended in that the man took Mitsuko in a strange, magical and flying vehicle that took her to her destination. The vehicle then returned as some more people might need not be able to get here through other means. Mitsuko left the new place and entered the streets of the sky fortress.
